Wow! Very neat - a funny concept that fits the theme. The sprites are very cute, with the little icons over their heads. The music is excellent, although after a while a little bit annoying. What I found a little weird was the way the machine gun worked, it seemed that when attacking the enemy the gun aimed consistently two inches before my opponent and not at him, especially when trying to move close to get within range. The AI was tough. Love the title screen, very polished game. ^_^
Nice 3D graphics, but it brought my semi-old video card (gf2mx) to its knees (~10 fps), perhaps some optimizations would be needed :) The menu was nice, with the spinning biohazard sign thing... Gameplay was a bit confusing, it's hard to tell where the bullets are going, and who they are hitting.
Very fun game :) The rendered graphics are pretty nice, and the badass talking of the virus is simply hilarious! It was a bit annoying how the rockets weren't visible, I don't know if they weren't done yet or it's a bug just for me... Also, there are data files for levels up to 12 but it told me I won after lev. 9 already :(
Lol, nice game, although at first it was a bit confusing. The rendered graphics are cute. Recharging the weapon seemed a bit slow, but I guess that's the difficulty factor. :)
What can I say, the game has the trademark bluescrn feelgood factor. Very polished, very neat looking with impressive particle effects. The game crashes randomly sometimes but I suppose you know that already. Also, I get (barely noticable) vertical stripes in the black parts of the map, must be some sort of texture clamping issue on my card (gf2mx).
A few comments about the gameplay: The barrels can slide on the floor without friction! I don't know if this is intentional bu it's very useful for getting them through narrow horizontal tunnels without hassle. Also, it's a bit weird how barrels will crash and explode when "picked up", but are indestructable when detached from the ship. (also very useful later in the game)
AAHHHHH GOOODDAMMIT 98 SECONDS I HATE YOU HATE HATE HATE HATE
ahem
:)
Fun game. I can't survive long enough to get the better weapon, unfortunately. Also, what's up with the 10 megabyte wav file for one single shot? :)
Very impressive game, and the idea is cool too, and the graphics are pretty.
There are just a few annoyances with the interface: Moving the little balls around messes up my current configuration if I drag them over already placed balls... it would've been better to drag them over the playing field. When placing connections, it's usually between only two atoms... in this case it would've been nice if the program placed it in the appropriate direction for me. Also, some indicator of my time left would've been nice, and having to start over after level 14 was very frustrating :) :)
Overall, I really liked the game idea, even if it's a very loose interpretation of "infection".
I suspect there's a fun game hiding in this somewhere, but I was too confused by things going on on-screen. The infection spreads too easily and it's difficult to kill those pesky pathogens. The font on the menu-screen was misaligned with the graphics, due to the linux vs windows difference I guess.
Lol :)
A very unique interpretation of the theme. I managed to score about 70 points.
Wow! Very polished game - out of the python entries this one seemed to have the smoothest graphics, feel, etc. The game idea isn't very original but it's an interesting twist on a classic idea, and pretty addictive. Combos = teh win.
Very fun, it kept me occupied for quite a bit. The concept is original and cool, too bad you didn't have time to finish it... (although the gameplay works, so the game is playable and fun)
Hahaha - a great interpretation of the theme, too bad it's unfinished. Not much gameplay but what is done is pretty funny. The STD-ridden whores move way too fast, they can infect the whole screen within seconds and after that it's only a game of dodge-the-whores. And only one condom? Poor guy! He's doomed. :) :)
Cool, I like the blood and gore and the rendered characters. Problem is, it's really easy to screw up, and before I know it the game's already over. Perhaps the civlians need to move in a slightly less crazy pattern, or just a bit slower :)
Yay for java + 3d :) I really like the chicken models and the sounds... Gameplay isn't very challenging but it's neat nonetheless.
Very fun and original game! One of the best for this contest, IMHO. I was planning to do a similar tyle game initially, but gave up because I couldn't come up with any real gameplay... But this game was challenging (and interesting) enough to keep me playing it to the end. The graphics are programmer art but look humorous enough anyway.
The gamewas fun once I figured out what's going on :) The indirect interaction with the game was really interesting. The enemy AI wasn't very bright but that's okay because this way I had a chance at winning. A good interpretation of the theme.
Pretty fun game, I like the crisp graphics. Non-rectangular maps would've been nice, since you already have the isometric graphics all done (maybe there are some after level 4, I didn't get further)
A small dislike with the gameplay: sometimes there are single empty spaces but the mushrooms just waste their seeds on random occupied spaces, and pretty soon there's no way to infect the empty tile... otherwise, fun!
Very neat! A great puzzle game, the last level was a good challenge. The smooth movement was a bit awkward for a block-based puzzle like this but I can't say that it hurt the gameplay. Maybe it could've been smooth (animated) movement but restricted to block borders?
Also, needs more levels :)
Very cool, and plays just like an RTS with indirect interaction! At first it was confusing but once you understand what's going on it's a pretty fun game.
This game could've been much cooler if it was finished and well polished. The 3d models and skins are very professional, but the gameplay is a little confusing, it's hard to make sense of the level and die quickly. Also the required .net installations were a nuisance :) The cat models own, especially the cute one.
Good game but it gets pretty difficult at the later stages. The "continue" mechanism really bothered me, pressing "space" "c" "space" to try a level again seems like a weird UI... :) Otherwise, neat.
Very entertaining but very annoying game... :) Controlling the goats is a challenge. The music is fitting, as are the sound effects.
Yay for GBA ~ Neat game, maybe a bit simplistic but that's okay. I like how the infection takes place on two levels, in-game and on the map too :)
Interesting game... I tried a couple of matches and it seems that the outcome is usually decided in the first two or three moves :) Winning or losing against the AI seemed a bit random, too :) I like the concept though, maybe it should be a bit more clear between turns about what's happening?
Neat, another game with a car! The controls were a bit hard, it was tough to manouver the car properly and often the good tactic seemed to be running around in circles hoping to hit infected people. Nice sounds and neat game concept.
Wow, a game of epic proportions! Very fun and varied, although it doesn't have much to do with infection :) Needs a save/load game function because it's easy to keep playing for a while. Very fun.
Nice entry, very original. I had a little problem with the interface... when trying to match the pattern, with the erratic clicking it's very easy to flip the same cell twice instead of two neighboring cells. Maybe it's just me but it happened a lot and was very frustrating because at enything "hard" and beyond I just couldn't keep up :) Something indicating the different mutations would be helpful, I found it hard to keep track of the playing field and I was overwhelmed quickly...
The game is cool but the way the gameplay is set up, it's inevitable that you will lose very soon. Since the whole concept is to remove similar cooties, and there aren't a lot of them on-screen in the first place, the ones that are there get used up quickly. From then on, the game is effectively over, since if there are no killable cooties in step n, there sure as hell won't be any more in step n+1 :) And since the only way to get rid of the gray ones is to kill right next to them, the end is even moreso inevitable.
I think a good solution might have been to be able to reshuffle the non-gray part of the board for a penalty, like, a certain percentage of your score (50% for instance), or to discard some unused pills for a smaller penalty.
The graphics are very stylish, I like that :)
Very unique art, the little green monster things look absolutely freaky. Gameplay was entertaining although sometimes things got busy on the screen and I died from some random enemy that I couldn't even notice :) It's fairly easy to die, maybe there should be a way to get more lives? (if there is, well, I didn't find it :))
The game is fun but way too difficult :) the infections spread very fast and the red cells have no chance (and the pill can't move fast enough to stop an infection before it spreads everywhere)
The graphics are very nice though, and the small filesize is cool (even though it wasn't a requirement to keep it small...)
